Quick Answer

Yuzu was released for Windows, Android, and Linux. The original project is discontinued, so files available today are archived copies or independently hosted builds rather than new official Yuzu releases. Use the platform section below for the download format and matching setup guide.

If you are here for one platform, start with the matching card below: Windows uses the PC ZIP, Android uses an APK, and the Linux download on this page is packaged as a ZIP. After that, follow the install guide for your platform before adding your own keys, firmware, and game files.

If a game does not start, check the game dump, keys and firmware, graphics driver, and the exact Yuzu build one at a time. That is more useful than changing several settings at once.

Before You Download Yuzu - What You Need

prod.keys: Yuzu uses these decryption keys to read supported Nintendo Switch content. Use keys dumped from hardware you own.

Firmware: Some games and system functions need compatible Switch firmware files.

Game files (.NSP or .XCI): Use your own game dumps. A damaged or incomplete dump may fail to appear or launch.

FileWhat it doesWhy it matters
prod.keysDecryption keys used by Yuzu to read supported Switch game content.Required for encrypted retail game content.
title.keysTitle-specific keys used by some content.Missing title keys can stop specific content from opening.
FirmwareNintendo Switch system files used by some games and emulator functions. Some titles or features rely on compatible firmware components.
Game files (.NSP / .XCI)Your dumped game data.A damaged or incomplete dump may not appear or start.

If Yuzu opens but a game does not, keys or firmware may be one cause, but they are not the only cause. Also check the game dump, graphics driver, emulator build, and game-specific settings before changing several options at once.

Which Yuzu Version Should I Download?

EA-4176 was the final Early Access build from March 1, 2024. Mainline 1734 was the final mainline release from March 4, 2024. Neither is a new 2026 Yuzu release.

  • Windows: Archived original-era options include mainline 1734 and Early Access 4176 for Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • Android: The original Yuzu project released an Android version for Android 11 or above. Performance varies by phone, GPU driver, RAM, game, and build.
  • Linux: Archived Yuzu releases included AppImage and Flatpak options. The download linked on this page is currently a ZIP archive.
  • Steam Deck: Historical Linux builds could run through the Steam Deck’s Linux environment, but compatibility and performance remain game- and build-specific.

Yuzu Emulator Games - What Can You Play?

Yuzu supported a large Nintendo Switch library, but compatibility varied by game, build, hardware, graphics driver, and settings.

Popular games people commonly check include The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Super Mario Odyssey, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. For a specific title, use the Yuzu compatibility list and note the build and platform used in the result instead of relying on a fixed FPS claim.

Is Yuzu Safe to Download in 2026?

Yuzu's source code was open-source. The files linked on this page are hosted outside the original Yuzu project, so we do not label them official or newly released by the Yuzu team.

If you are looking for an original Yuzu build number, use the version section above. Fork names and later community projects have separate release histories and should not be treated as new official Yuzu versions.

Yuzu Download Unavailable - Why Most Links Are Broken

Older Yuzu download links are broken because the original repositories and download pages were removed after the 2024 Nintendo settlement.

That is why older guides and forum posts may still show “Yuzu download unavailable” or point to links that no longer resolve.

Later community projects used Yuzu’s open-source code independently, but they have their own release histories and current status. They should not be presented as if they were new official Yuzu releases.
